History

The International Propeller Club of the United States is an American organization founded in 1927 with the original aim to promote the interests of the shipping industry in the United States, an aim that today, following the internationalization of the Club has been given a more general form.

Over the years affiliated Propeller Clubs were formed overseas, having rather a social function for the shipping communities in their respective areas. On the European regional level clubs are organized in the European Association of Propeller Clubs (EAPC).

The Propeller Club of the United States, International Port of Monaco No 165, was founded in 1976.The Club started off with a somewhat limited membership which, however, has grown remarkably in recent years following the expansion of the shipping activities in the Principality.

Today's membership stands at about 150 people of different categories with interest in the merchant marine and cruise industries like shipowners, ship managers, brokers, naval architects and engineers, accountants, lawyers, bankers, insurers, suppliers etc... There are also several non-resident members.
